Check the bearings on the 1988-1994 XJ6 Differential

The XJ40 Jaguar is weak in the differential which will wear and become noisy, frequently within 100,000 miles. Usually all that is needed is a fresh set of bearings, but if a leaking pinion seal is ignored for too long or the bearing is improperly tightened during seal replacement, the whole assembly can be terribly damaged. If you hear a whining noise when you decelerate at 50 to 70 mph, then the bearings are bad and you will need to either rebuild your differential or buy a rebuilt differential. We sell rebuild kits and rebuilt diffs on the website.
