22. Universal Joints need Periodic Lubrication

Universal joints allow long shafts, like the driveshaft and the axle shafts, to bend without breaking. Universal joints contain many bearing surfaces that require periodic lubrication, and without it they will go bad. They are cheap, but the labor to install them can be considerable. Most zippylube joints won't touch them, so you may have to do it yourself. It's worth the effort!
