Jaguar Parts Technical Information
The emissions check valve, part number EBC10196 on the website, is
part of the air injection system, you know, those pipes that screw
into the top of your cylinder head on the 81-87 XJ6 and all V12 XJS.
The check valve allows the smog pump to push air into those pipes,
but keeps the exhaust from flowing back through them when the pump
isn't operating. This check valve typically rusts away and falls apart on you.
