6. Whining Howling differential noise: 1988-1994 XJ6

A little whining is normal. Howling is not normal. Powerlock differentials tend to whine more than non-Powerlock diffs, and they tend to fail more frequently. If your diff is making a howling noise when decelerating at about 60-80 mph, you will need to replace the differential with a rebuilt unit or we sell the differential rebuild kits that we use to rebuild differentials so you can do it yourself. All our differentials and related parts are on the website under the differential category.
