43. Belt tension Loose Belts Sqeal and Wear Out
Jaguar Parts Technical Information part 2
When replacing your engine belts, be sure to follow the recommended procedure for tensioning the belts properly. If the belts are too loose, they will squeal and wear out fast. If they are too tight, you can damage the component being driven by the belt, particularly the water pump.
